about

I started playing guitar at age 8 and by the time I was in 6th grade, I began performing regularly at birthday parties, talent shows, or anywhere that would have me and whatever band I was with. By the early seventies I was traveling the country in a very successful top 40 band playing 6 nights a week. We played all the hits that were popular at the time and made fairly good money. In 1978, I chose to start playing my own material.
I have been blessed to play with some of the area's finest musicians, but never was it such a thrill as playing with my brother Allan, and childhood friends Jack Wray and Scott Levine in 2nd Wind.
As tight as our friendship was, we were even tighter as a band. We were fortunate enough to be commercially successful with several of our records charting and the amount of air play we received. We also became a big draw in the clubs and concerts throughout the region, we had a loyal fan base that followed us faithfully, knowing and singing the words to every song. Wonderful times indeed.
Jack and Allan retired in 1983 (prematurely I might add) while Scott and I kept the ball rolling. The music scene was changing in the Dayton Area as MTV became a mainstay on local cable. Also, the D.U.I. laws were getting tougher, forcing many club owners to close or do away with live music. Scott left in 1985 to form his own business while I kept at it, playing with various bands, trying to cram my songs down anyone's throat who would listen.
This CD is all about the last 23 years I have spent entertaining the great people of the Miami Valley. It is a tribute to all the fine musicians I've had the pleasure of playing with. It is a tribute to all the fine musicians I've had the pleasure of playing with. It is a tribute to all the friends and fans we've made over the years, and most important, it is a tribute to all the glorious memories that all of us shared and will share while growing old together.
This CD is not perfect. It has all been digitally remastered from the original master tapes, but keep in mind that some of this material is quite old. To represent all the music made, we used some "live" tracks as well as rehearsal tapes, however, the sound quality is quite good.
If you were there, I hope you enjoy this. If you were too young, perhaps you'll hear something you like. If you're too old, you can't hear anyway, so turn it up! They were and still are wonderful times, thank you all for letting me be part of your lives.
